My name is Clare Randall, and I am the business owner and principal counsellor of Oak Tree Counselling. Welcome to our website.
Most of my work involves helping clients who are emotionally upset or overwhelmed, who are stuck with a challenging issue, who want to improve how they relate to others, or who just want their life to be different. I specialise in relationships, and I also have extensive experience dealing with all the issues listed under ‘Our Services’
Clients have described me as calm, kind, and encouraging. Each of my sessions differs depending on your needs and wishes. Some sessions will be purely about listening and validation, others will involve more active investigation and coaching. Many sessions are a mix of the two. What I do have is a talent for getting to the core of an issue without forgetting your immediate needs.
I am qualified, insured, and a registered member of The Australian Counselling Association. In addition, I have extensive business and life experience. I am trained in several therapies including; Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Person-centred counselling, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT or ‘mindfulness’), and Thought Field Therapy (The Tapping Therapy). It is my hope however, that rather than experiencing therapy techniques, you leave your session feeling listened to, understood, validated, and supported.
I feel blessed to do a job that I love, and would be honored to be invited to be a part of your journey towards living the life you want.
I am a member of:
- The Australian Counselling Association (ACA)
- The Anxiety Disorders Association of Victoria (ADAVIC)
- The Post and Antenatal Depression Association (PANDA), and
- I am a certified ACT Therapist, and
- A certified Thought Field Therapist.
I work school hours during the week, and Saturdays. Katherine works late afternoons and evenings.
Our newest addition to the team is the lovely Katherine. Katherine works late afternoons and evenings, and is an experienced and very capable couples and family counsellor who also really enjoys working with individuals and children. Katherine has a wealth of life and counselling experience, and there’s not much that phases her. She is both practical and approachable.
Katherine is fully qualified in counselling and family therapy (Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma), as well as having a Graduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling. She is insured, and is a member of professional counselling body (The CCAA). This means both of us must complete a certain amount of professional training and supervision each year to stay registered.
When working with you Katherine employs several types of interventions which are tailored to your needs and desired outcomes. She uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Family of Origin work. She also employs various couple and marriage specific interventions. Like me her aim is to make you feel heard, respected, accepted and valued.
